Ralph Gene Benson, age 83, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024. He was born on June 3, 1940, to Bill and Maimie (Worley) Benson in Tell City, Indiana. Ralph lived a life marked by dedication, love, and simple joys.
Ralph dedicated many years of his life to service, working as a Maintenance Man for the New Albany Floyd County School Corporation until his well-earned retirement. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. He married the love of his life, Anicia (Cobb) Benson, and together they built a life in Palmyra, Indiana, where they resided in the home Ralph proudly built himself.
Ralph found solace and joy in woodworking, creating beautiful pieces with his skilled hands. Yet, his greatest pleasure came from the simple moments, where he could sit and watch the day go by. Ralph's presence was always felt, his cheerful whistle echoing wherever he went, especially when happiness filled his heart.
Ralph is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anicia Benson, his father Bill Benson, and his mother Maimie (Worley) Benson. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
He is survived by his two sons, Ralph Gene Benson Jr. and William Benson, as well as seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each a testament to the love and joy Ralph brought into the world.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation was chosen, and Love Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
