Nancy Delaine Antoinette (Howerton) Rankin

Nancy Delaine Antoinette Rankin, age 63, of Laconia, Indiana, passed away on March 4, 2026.

She was born on September 8, 1962, in New Port Richey, Florida, to Larry Howerton and Elaine Poe. Nancy later made her home in Laconia, Indiana. She worked in food service at Dairy Queen in Corydon, Indiana, where she enjoyed serving others and being part of the community.

Nancy was a member of Freedom Christian Church in Laconia. On November 17, 1980, she married Derry L. Rankin. Together they built a life and home in Laconia and shared many years of marriage, family, and memories.

Nancy truly enjoyed camping, working puzzles, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She cherished the moments she spent with those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Potter; her grandmother, Thelma Kratz; her stepmother, Patricia Howerton, and one granddaughter, Nova Rankin. 

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Derry L. Rankin; her sons, Derry E. (Victoria) Rankin, Patrick R. (Brittany) Rankin, and Trever A. (Kayla Burgin) Rankin; her father, Larry Howerton, Sr.; her brothers, Larry (Jennifer) Howerton, Jr. and Jeffrey Howerton; and her sister, Angela (Doug) Meredith. She is also survived by four granddaughters, Haylee Rankin, Katie (Elijah) Coomer, Maddison Rankin, and Alexis Rankin; and five grandsons, Nathaniel Rankin, Lucas Rankin, Levi Rankin, Zach Rankin, and Rowen Rankin.

Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., with burial to follow.
