Michael Anthony Collard

New Salisbury, IN, Michael Anthony Collard, Sr. age 58, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday January 08, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Mike was born in Louisville, KY on March 12, 1962 to Charles and Betty (Shanks) Collard. He married Johnna (Hoehn) Collard on May 25, 2012. Mike was a veteran of the United States Navy, earning the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Engineman Chief. He proudly served his country for 20 years. Mike served in the Gulf Wars and as a member of the honor guard as the last beam was hoisted from the Twin Towers. He and Johnna enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, camping, boating and completing outdoor projects.

Mike is preceded in death by his father; brother, Wayne Collard; daughter, Sara Collard.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Lou Collard; Wife, Johnna Collard; four sons, Michael Anthony Collard Jr. (Tabitha), Travis Collard, Joshua (Autumn) Yocum, and Shawn (Amanda) Yocum; three daughters, Tabitha Collard (Danny), Michelene (Kademe) English, April Yocum; five Brothers Kenny (Jennifer) Collard, Neil (Tammy) Collard, Jeff (Loni) Collard, Bryan (Connie) Collard, Richard (Robin) Collard; three sisters, Rose (Mark) Strychacz, Lavinia (Glenn) Arms, and Rebecca Collard; seventeen grandchildren, and  many cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as several loving brothers and sisters in law.

Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on January 11, 2021 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be held on the same day from 10a.m. until time of service. Due to COVID restrictions visitation attendance is limited to twenty-five people at a time. A live feed of the services will stream on the Love Funeral Home Facebook page starting at 1p.m.      Interment with Military Honors will be at Mt. Zion in Depauw, IN.
