Maxine Alzora Jacobi

Greenville, IN, Maxine Alzora Jacobi, age 87, passed away at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour, IN. She was born on February 23, 1933, to George E. and Iva G. (Taylor) Jacobi. Maxine was retired School teacher working for and retiring from the Lillian Emery School in New Albany Floyd County School Corp. She was a member of the Park Christian Church in New Albany, IN. Maxine enjoyed playing bridge and watching and supporting the New Albany Bulldogs and the Floyd Central Highlanders programs. She loved the Cincinnati Reds and the Boston Red Sox, the Cleveland Browns, and the San Diego Chargers. Maxine also enjoyed traveling to the World Fairs, national parks, each of the state capitals, church activities, and spending time with friends and family. Maxine greatly appreciated the many people who took her to events and lunches after her stroke three years ago.  

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Mervin Jacobi, Bruce Jacobi.

Maxine is survived by her brother Gary (Linda) Jacobi; niece, Pamela Crowell; three nephews, Jack Jacobi, Matthew Jacobi, Mark Jacobi.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m. on Wednesday November 18, 2020, at Love Funeral in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be the same day starting at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Greenville, IN. Cremation was chosen. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Joseph Rauch, Inc or Children’s Academy (Lillian Emery) in New Albany, IN.    

Due to COVID-19 the Jacobi family would like guests to feel free to safely celebrate Maxine’s life from home. We ask that those who attend the visitation follow all COVID-19 mandates.
