A funeral service for Marvin D. Denton, 93, of Pekin, IN, will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, with burial to follow at El Bethel Cemetery in Marengo. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, from 3-8 PM and from 12-2 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Marvin passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home, surrounded by loving family.
Marvin was born on July 10, 1927 to the late William and Amelia Denton. Marvin married his wife, Charlotte, in 1955 and they were married for 63 years.
Throughout his life he was a hard worker. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II, and then went on to work for Brown and Williamson for over 26 years. Marvin also loved being outdoors, and especially loved catfishing.
Many will remember Marvin for his outgoing personality. He never met a stranger. He cared deeply for so many, especially his family.
Along with his parents, Marvin is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Denton; son, Marvin Denton; grandson, Michael Wingler; son-in-law, Donald Wynn; and five siblings.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Carolyn Weber (Robby) and Debbie Wynn; grandchildren, Kristi Stewart (Jesse), Kevin Collard (Della), and Shane Wynn (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Austin Collard, Wyatt Collard, Cheyenne Collard, Abigail Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Parker Carlile, Taylor Atha, and Carson Wynn.
