James "Jimmy" Russell Kost

Palmyra, IN, James “Jimmy” Russell Kost, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday January 10, 2023. He was born on October 08, 1947, in Central barren Indiana to William and Lena Helen (Jackson) Kost. Jimmy was a graduate of Morgan Township School in Central Barren, IN. He was a United States Army Veteran and Purple Heart Recipient for his service overseas in Vietnam. Jimmy owned and operated the Kost Family Farm Located in Palmyra, IN. He was a member of the Central Barren United Methodist Church. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his niece Deneen, and going out to eat.

He is preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Joan; sister, Joyce; and one brother, Nelson.

He is survived by his niece, Deneen Mollet, many other nieces, nephews, cousin, great nieces and nephews; as well as several faithful companions his beloved Cats.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday January 14, 2023, at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be held on the same day from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers donation can be made in Jimmy’s name to your local VFW.
