James "Jim" A. Burnside
80; Corydon, IN
James "Jim" A. Burnside, 80, of Corydon, IN, passed away on July 28, 2020.
Jim was born on February 08, 1940 to Daniel and Zoe (McCord) Burnside. He married Mamie (Crawford) Burnside on October 14, 1960 and enjoyed almost 60 years of marriage. Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Oakland City College with degrees in American History and Geography. He worked for the United States Department of Agriculture, Grundman's, and the genealogy department of Harrison County Library. Jim enjoyed many hobbies including reading, photography, making special gifts for family members and spending time with them.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Mamie (Crawford) Burnside, Daughter Angela (Gary) Byrne, Son Mark (Marilee) Burnside; two sisters Sue Rusk and Jennifer (Ray) Crawford, two brothers Ron (Betty) Burnside, Tony (Kay) Burnside; five grandchildren, Ryan (Daisy) Byrne, Jordan (Jordan) Byrne, Tyler Byrne, Gatlin Burnside, and Katie Unruh (Kyle Cannon), as well as six Great-grandchildren, Rick Byrne, Avery Byrne, Henry Byrne, Temple Byrne, Lilly Unruh, and Evan Cannon.
Love Funeral Home of Palmyra, IN, has been entrusted with his arrangements.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
