Palmyra, IN, Henry Wilson Armstrong, age 93, passed away at his home on February 8, 2021. He was born in Rosewood, KY on January 06, 1928 to Edgar and LaRue (Cisney) Armstrong. Henry married Mamie Dee (Webster) Armstrong on December 15, 1949. He was a member of the Graceland Baptist Church in Palmyra, IN. Henry was a long time deacon and minister, who loved reading the Bible and serving his community. He worked for the Louisville Post office for thirty-two years. Henry served his country by serving in the Navy, Air Force, and Army reserves. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, supporting the Dallas Cowboys, Boston Redsox, the University of Kentucky, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Henry is preceded in death by his Parents; wife; two brothers, Edgar and Sherman Armstrong, as well as a son-in-law, Dennis Finck.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jackie Armstrong, Brenda (Charles) Stewart; one son, David Armstrong; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Armstrong, Isaac Armstrong, Olivia Armstrong, Jeremy Kappell, Jennifer Parker, Jessica Batman, Jeffrey Stewart, Jonathan Stewart, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday February 13, 2021 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. Visitation will be on Friday February 12, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Palmyra Cemetery in Palmyra, Indiana.
