Although Glenn was mentally challenged, he taught us one great lesson in life and that was unconditional love. He never judged a book by it's cover. He loved everyone. When you were around him it didn't take long to find out what he liked. He loved the Eagles. NFL football was his game of choice. He was fascinated by horses, especially thoroughbreds. He loved to watch horse races, TV westerns, especially the Lone Ranger, Gunsmoke and Tales of Wells Fargo. He had to watch the school buses every morning and evening as they passed the nursing home. He always waved and said, "There they Go". That was a must in his life. Glenn never met a stranger and it didn't take long to find out your name and you indeed had a friend for life. He never forgot your name. Anything NASA would brighten his spirit. It was fascinating to listen to him talk about the Saturn rockets, Apollo, Skylab, space shuttles and the astronauts. He could name them all. Glenn attended Community Worship Chapel in Marengo, IN when he was able. He loved music. His favorite song was "Across the Bridge". Glenn and his brother would sing it and the whole church would join in. He taught you to not be ashamed of the Lord. He would ask for prayer or when someone ask to pray for him he bowed his head as like a smitten oak.
