Dorothy Dohoney Obituary

Dorothy Ann (Gettelfinger) Dohoney, Age 93, passed away peacefully January 3, 2021 at Clark Memorial Health in Jeffersonville, IN. She was born December 3, 1927 in Bradford, IN to Edward and Marie Gettlefinger. Dorothy married her best friend and love, William C. Dohoney on October 18, 1947, who proceded her in death in 2004. She Loved to sew and made so many of her Children’s Clothes especially for occasions like Easter, where everyone matched in their coordinating outfits. Dorothy loved gardening and her flowers. She was a great cook and even better baker. Dorothy was also an avid bird watcher and just a nature person in general which she passed that love on to her children. She was mostly a stay-at-home mother but worked at the Census Bureau for ten years, after her children were grown. Bill and Dorothy loved Camping, Boating, and seeing the U.S. She was always making people laugh. Dorothy was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Bradford, IN for all her life, and was involved in many functions that took place there.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; Son, Stephen; Sister, Helen; Grandson, Stephen.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Margaret (Robert) Rorke, Daniel Dohoney, Tony Dohoney, Sharon (David) Logsdon, Paula (Greg) Eveslage, and Brian (Susie) Dohoney; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seventeen great- grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private with burial at St. Michaels Catholic Church Cemetery. Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, in is in charge of arrangements.
