Carlene (Harvey) Nevil

Carlene Nevil, age 72, of Palmyra, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and her faithful companion, her beloved cat, KitKat.

Born on February 3, 1954, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Carlene was the daughter of Carlton and Ethel (Trent) Harvey. She dedicated her life to caring for her family as a homemaker, creating a home filled with love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. She married Douglas Nevil Sr., and together they made their home in Palmyra, where they shared many cherished years together.

Carlene found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a loving mother, granny, sister, aunt, and friend whose gentle heart touched everyone who knew her. Her family will forever remember her as the kindest, sweetest soul they had ever known. Her unconditional love, warm smile, and compassionate spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives she blessed.

Carlene was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Ethel Harvey; her beloved husband, Douglas Nevil Sr.; her daughter, Cheryl Lee Nevil; five sisters, Brenda Avery, Lisa Marie Tate, Diane Crawford, Debbie Singleton, and Barbara Singleton; and two brothers, Carl Harvey and Rickey Harvey.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Douglas (Joanna) Nevil Jr., Josh (Paula) Nevil, Rhonda (Bubba) Tussey, and Rebeka (Dana) Gilley; her daughter-in-love, Amanda Draper; her sister, Missy McGee; grandchildren Jenna Nevil, Shelby Turben, Chancy Funk, Dustin Nevil, Skylyn Howell, Austin Nevil, Megan Robson, Shiann Stone, Amber Rosado, Madison McCorkle, Brianna Nevil, Chelsey Arnold, Kyle Nevil, Michael Arnold, and Aaron Nevil; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon, all at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana.

Funeral services celebrating Carlene's life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Love Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service, and burial will take place later at Palmyra Cemetery.
