With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Johnny G. Jarboe, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Johnny, age 67, of Palmyra, IN, departed from this world surrounded by his loving family at his home on April 24, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him.
Born on May 17, 1956, to John R. and Helen L. (Dietrich) Jarboe in New Albany, IN, Johnny's journey was one of passion and dedication. A graduate of North Harrison High School, he embarked on a fulfilling career, owning and operating his own carpentry business. Through his skilled hands, he crafted not just cabinets and houses, but also enduring memories for countless individuals.
On May 24, 1991, Johnny found his soulmate in Donna Rudolph, and together they built a life filled with love and companionship in Palmyra, IN. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love, nurturing a family rooted in warmth and unity.
Johnny's joys were simple yet profound. Whether he was fishing, shooting pool, strumming his guitar, fashioning woodworks of art, testing his luck in poker, or simply relishing in the company of cherished friends and family, Johnny embraced life with an infectious zest. His playful sense of humor was a beacon of light, capable of lifting spirits and evoking smiles even in the darkest of times.
While we mourn Johnny's passing, we find solace in the memories we shared and the love that will forever bind us together. Though he is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Lee Jarboe, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Johnny is survived by his devoted wife, Donna, his loving father, John R. Jarboe, his adoring children, Ashley D. (Andy) Glomb, John N. (JoAnna) Jarboe, and Alex R. Jarboe, as well as his cherished granddaughters, Amelia E. Jarboe and Josee M. Jarboe. He is also survived by his dear sister, Brenda (Clarence) King, and a host of relatives and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, from 10 am to 4 pm at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra, IN. A heartfelt funeral service will follow at 4 pm, also at Love Funeral Home. Johnny will be laid to rest in the peaceful embrace of Palmyra Cemetery, a final resting place befitting a man who touched the lives of so many with his kindness, generosity, and love.
