Donald Eugene Dietrich

Greenville: Donald Dietrich, age 84, passed away peacefully at Rolling Hills Nursing Home, on Friday March 30.
Donald was born on February 1, 1934 in Palmyra, IN to Edgar Raymond Dietrich and Odessa Olga (Radcliffe) Patterson. On June 18, 1955 Donald married Mary Lu Dietrich. They have celebrated 62 wonderful years together.
Donald attended Pekin high school and was an army veteran. He retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. Donald loved spending time with his family, fishing, and tinkering with tools. One of his favorite creations was a car dubbed the “Dietrich Special”.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Kenneth Dietrich.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lu (McGuirk) Dietrich, two sons Steven Dietrich of Georgetown and Scott Dietrich (Beverly) of Greenville, and a daughter Sheri Bower (Jim) of Sellersburg. His sister Helen Jarboe (Raymond). A sister-in-law Patty Dietrich. Two grandchildren Anna Dietrich and Erica Reiter (Kyle). As well as two great grandsons Colton and Cash Reiter.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11am on April 2, 2018 at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with interment to follow at St. Michaels cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday April 1, 2018 from 4pm -8pm and again on Monday April 2, 2018 from 9am until the time of service at Love Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to:

    One of my earliest memories is a ride in that car Don built. He and Mary Lu were good friends to my Mom and Dad. May God grant him peace and comfort his family.
